-How soon will we get to see Venice? Will it be US only?
-Will Venice heal all those wounded souls that Guiding Light has left in its aftermath? How much alike are Gina & Ani, Gani? Ana? and Otalia?
-Can Becky please be on Venice?

When I was 13, I remember having to go on a family trip to Ireland. And this was right before your "death". I was so taken by your character, that my sister made a joke about how we would come back from our trip and you would be dead. Well, sure enough I get back... and there you are... lying in a coffin. I *freaked* out! But then I found out you were still alive... thank god!!
Anyhoo, my question is... Were you hesitant about starting Venice? Or was it a yes right away?

While I'm not expecting Otalia 2.0, with all this talk of titillation and panties, I'm getting concerned Venice may be LWord 2.0. Not that there's anything wrong with sex, but a lil' romantic build up to the sex would be appreciated. So can we expect more depth from Venice then the male fantasy version of lesbians hitting the sheets that we normally get?

Many thanks for your continued commitment to the gay community, not to mention your initiative, to put together Venice. I for one am looking for to seeing a genuine reflection of our lives and not the non-kissing bs shenanigans GL have been portraying.

Questions: Do you have any concerns, however, that you have had to use an alternate media source in order to show Venice- (i.e) that it's okay to show gay on the internet but not on tv? Would that not further marginalise the gay and other alternate communities, while tv executives gets to portray what they consider "normal" on mainstream tv? Or do you think any coverage is good coverage?

I've got a couple of questions.

- With the rising success of web series', in particular soap opera web series', does the 'Venice' team hope to use the web as a platform for cable networks to pick up the show or is it a hope that 'Venice' will remain exclusively on the web? If the former, how will that affect the international community whose access to the show (and their ratings potential) could be restricted?

- Concerning the actual episodes, will the show feature certain characters (and their plotlines) in alternate episodes, but have Gina involved in each episode? Or will we have a consistent story played out each episode, like a regular television show, featuring most, if not all, the characters in almost every episode? Will there be several stories being played out simultaneously, or will we see a main plotline and minimal subplots, with all the characters involved in that main plot, much like 'Imaginary Bitches'?

The girls weren't kissing and even the hugging became less or wasn't there at all.

The state of daytime (particularly soap opreas) seems to be going be "dying" so to speak with soaps ( aka. Guiding Light) going off the air and ratings going down. With cable shows and webseries becoming the craze, do you feel that soap opreas can surivive network daytime televesion or is the soap opera becoming an antiquated industry? Can soap opreas still fit with the our modern times?

When the character "Alan" was written, did you straight away think that Michael Sabatino, your husband, would be the perfect guy for the role? How hard was it to convince him to join Team Venice? What was his reaction?

What are your expectations in reaching an audience beyond your existing fan base or that of the daytime soap genre? I for one do not know if the show is for me, but I am keeping an eye on it as I want this model to succeed more than anything. Television without borders... make it so!

Hey Stan . . . . As a new fan of yours (middle of June 09) you have knocked my socks off–I won't admit to any other absensce of clothing!) I have been a life long fan of GL (third generation) but had dropped back the last 10 years or so because of real life (I really hate it when real life gets in way of my TV viewing!! LOL) I really never, ever thought I would see my life story (or close enough to it) on Guiding Light of all places!! Just never thought they would go there and do it so well (won't go into the negative parts . . . Like lack of physical stuff) But the story telling ROCKED! Hate that it is ending! Will miss it!!

But glad to hear about Venice! Also glad to hear that Gina & Ani are NOT Otalia. That story is done and time to move on . . . . Also LOVE that it is not a "lesbian only" series. To me, that is NOT real life! In fact, I'm a lesbian who happens to have (or used to have) more straight friends than gay friends. Having been in closet for 30 years will do that.

QUESTIONS: What kind of photographer is Ani?? Group behind Venice seem like a blast–Is that real?? Any more information available on Hilary B Smith's character?? How many dogs in cast?? (LOL Or has the cast gone to the dogs?? LOL) Sorry trying to find humor today! Bad pain day! Last question: How long do you see this web series running?? And would you let it go to cable or pay cable (Showtime or HBO) if they wanted it?? Or (like I have read) too many cooks can ruin the dish or web series in this case??

What would make you feel the web series was successful?

Having full creative control of the content and material of your story is very important to you and Kim and Hope, and being on the web will allow you to not have to work under the censorship and constraints of sponsors or networks. That being said, what kind of rating would you give your new masterpiece Venice.... a PG, an R or an NC17??

Doubting a G rating would be in the mix (got our fill of that on GL)

Web series, wether they are comedies or dramas are quite popular and are becoming quite popular with the masses. They are free and they allow total creative freedom and I’m so happy you will be making a foray into this new venture. My question is

The state of daytime (particularly soap opreas) seems to be going be “dying” so to speak with soaps ( aka. Guiding Light) going off the air and ratings going down. With cable shows and webseries becoming the craze, do you feel that soap opreas can surivive network daytime television or is the soap opera becoming an antiquated industry? Can soap opreas still fit with our modern times?

I love your Idea of "Venice The Series" I can't wait!!!! I love all the actors and Kimmy and Hope you have involved in it. I also know you are a working mother and just started back to DOOL.
My ? is if each episode is going to be 5 min a week, 12 episodes a season that is like one hour in 3 months. Will that be enough to keep the fan base tuned in?
I will even if it is 1 min. because I love you and your acting. I worry about others getting bored.

I'm excited about this new series but wondering what types of safeguards your team has taken to prevent the website crashing the first day from the likely massive traffic it will get. Are you hosting the videos yourself or using a site like YouTube (like Eden Riegel's "Imaginary Bitches" web series did) to help alleviate the stress on your hosting company? I'd hate to miss those first 30 seconds due to the site crashing!

I live as your caracter Olivia and found out after beeing married and having two children that I loved a woman...... Congratulations to you on a successful run the Guiding Light especially with the Otalia storyline. As an actor you are very interesting to watch. You are never predictable in your acting style and you can do anything. You have really good timing with drama as well as comedy.
With the popularity of the Otalia storyline with the loyal fan base it has do you see all web series having to develop and court their particular fans on an on-going basis? Open Book Productions roll out of Venicetheseries is an example of a successful business model that is courting, engaging and maintaining the fan base interest.. It has been very impressive.

I love your take on Gina and her "normal" life in this series, especially in a time when people spend a lot of time judging others based on who they sleep with. So my question is, with gay marriage being such a hot topic, do you think that showing characters like Gina, in a everyday family light will help understanding and generally help the cause of human rights?

For the question: since I think Ms Chappell has perfect comedic timing, and she really shines in scenes in which humor is brought forward, I'd like to know if we'll be able to see more of that side of her in Venice?

I was telling my sister the other day that in a year everyone is gonna know who Crystal Chappell, Kim Turrisi, and Hope Royaltey are, not just because Venice is going to be a hit, but because how you all went about it. All of you, including the other cast members and crew, are currently working for free, you never once had something bad to say about CBS and it's POSSIBLE influence in doing this show, and your proving that actors do care about what they put out there, that it's not all about a paycheck.

Where do you see yourself and Venice in a year? What sort or impact would you like to make with the show?

Crystal, as a good business person, you no doubt have a business model and a plan to monetize the new Web series. What is that model and your plans in that regard?

2) I know that everyone is trying to figure out how to make the web work financially. I've read that the VENICE team is very cautious about what sponsorship manes. You surveyed your fans about a fee structure for VENICE. What did you learn? Were you surprised at all by the results?

3) Can you tell us a little about Gina's relationship to the Colonel? I've read that they have a very complicated relationship.

You never say no to an interview, you keep us all entertained with Twitter, you are acting full time on a soap, you are creating a web series, you have a family that you obviously give 100% to...I will quote you in one of your scenes with Jess from December of 2008 "You're a freakin' super hero!"

Here's a question from a wife and mother from 'middle America' that's short and direct:

Who killed the 'Otalia' storyline on GL – was it the GL writers/producers; the network; the owners Proctor and Gamble, or a combination of them? It's important for viewers to know where the homophobia lies since other GL couples were given the 'right' to kiss at opportune moments, however, Natalia and Olivia did not.

I have loved watching you as Olivia. During one of her particularly villainous phases I remember thinking it was incredible how much I could enjoy watching someone being so bad. For that reason, I'm glad they ended the show with the audience hoping for Olivia's happiness and redemption. My question is, what is more fun to play – the villain or the hero?

I love the background idea for Venice. Everyday people dealing with life and all its intricacies and craziness. I hope the characters are as complex and complicated as real human subjects can be. I know the main character is openly gay, but will Venice touch on other sensitive topics that mainstream television might shy away from and push the boundaries since a web series is not subject to same standards? Also, if given the opportunity for a major network backing , would you three ladies relinquish your control based on a project that came from a labor of love?

For some asinine reason I caught pneumonia this May, and instead of being outside enjoying the weather and playing soccer, I was stuck inside for 2 weeks recuperating. During one of those very long days I happened upon the Otalia storyline on YouTube (via afterellen) and having all the time in the world, I curled up in bed with my laptop and watched every episode available. Turned out to be the best sick days ever! I didn't even notice the coughs and the disgusting phlegm any more Otalia-itis cured me. So thank you for that!

But anyway, my question is: Do you have any aspirations of moving to the big screen or do you maybe prefer the slow-burning/dramatic storytelling that soap operas/series provide?

I have been watching GL since the days of Bert Bauer, Mike and Ed, etc. Sad ending to a great run. But, looking forward to Venice.

I know that you and the producers enjoy the prospect of having alot of creative license in the direction of the show, but has there been any approach from Showtime after the end of the L Word? They seemed to be able to do quite a bit that the core networks do not allow, but I surely don't know the ins and outs of that. Any thoughts there?

Could Venice be a stepping stone for that prospect? Also, will viewers be able to download the webisodes of Venice? Perhaps a way to make some money for the show?

You have a couple more characters to add to Venice for its 1st season. Since we know the series is going to be a sensational hit do you anticipate adding additional characters the 2nd season and/or (hopefully) keeping most of the original cast?

Will the series be available on DVD at the end of the season?

Hi Crystal. My grandmother listened to GL on the radio, my mother watched it on TV, and I picked up and watched it in TV, on CBS.com and even caught it via podcast on occasion. You have been one of my favorite characters on GL for many years now and I absolutely loved the Otalia story line.

My question – what do you think old media can learn from this venture? Do you think they will be slow to adapt...perhaps too slow and end up someday and end up like the newspaper industry?

I am however most excited about Venice and have a couple of questions:
It seems obvious that the model of network soaps is in deep crisis and not quite able to adjust to changed times – do you think it can be revived on the web, and if so, what changes need to be made?
So far, success for web series doesn't necessarily mean attracting as many viewers as possible but creating a committed fan base by targeting a specific group or market section, e.g. gamers for The Guild, often offering additional content etc. – are you following this model with Venice? If so, what is your target group?
And related to that: network TV seems unwilling to give lesbian storylines anything close to equal treatment, even though the success of Otalia shows that there would be an enthusiastic audience – do you think web series, and Venice in particular, can build a sustainable business model around filling this void?

Compared to the experience of Guiding Light, being an actor, and an individual in the arts what do you hope Venice to be artistically? And what do you hope to bring to it and make it respectable?

In interviews You, Kimmy, and Hope (the producing partners) said that Venice is a show about people and not straight people, gay people, or sexual people just people and the human experience and people’s lives as a result of the human experience. So how would you as a producer, actor, and audience member describe the show or what it’s about to people to who may decide they don’t want to watch it because it has a gay character?

How is Olivia different from Gina? What do you hope to bring to the character of Gina? What did you learn from playing the character of Olivia and other characters the last 25 years that you hope to bring to Gina? Is Gina a hard character to play compared to the other character roles you have played and where would you rate Gina on that Scale?

Your husband will be playing the role of Alan. How excited are you to be acting with him again and was it difficult to get him to take on this role?

I first want to say thank you SO MUCH for doing such an excellent job as Olivia. You are talented beyond words! You and Jessica have shown through your characters that love has no boundaries. Why do you think there was such a huge fan response to the characters and their love story?

With Venice you are an executive producer, star and co-creator of a web series. All of this while coming full circle by starting a new job as the original character that put you on the map in daytime.

Why take on such an ambitious project like Venice?

How do you really feel about becoming a lesbian icon? Do you realize that playing another lesbian role will increase your lesbian fan base and thousands of lesbians are dreaming of kissing you? I am asking this question because I was in a fan chat room and some of the younger women were really fantisizing about you and some of the straight women were really insulted. Does this offend you in any way?

Hello Crystal– I adored your work as half of the Otalia storyline but was outraged at the restraint put on the sensuality between the two women. I'm very, very eagerly awaiting Venice! Am I hopefully correct in assuming that this series will be very sensual?

My other question: You've been on TV for years and now the web... is there any chance that we'll ever see you on the big screen? I truly feel in the right role you could give Meryl Streep a run for her money! And now that you have a world-wide, loyal lesbian fan base, would you do a lesbian movie role? Any fear of type casting?

You have touched me like no other actor has. What is your fondest hope for Venice and for Gina's story with regard to the effect it may have on the gay community around the world?

I have great admiration for Soap actors as I imagine they have a rather enduring schedule to keep. No hiatus, and a show that runs five days per week as opposed to one. Throw in emotionally charged scenes and you have to be spent. How do you decompress and recharge?

Your GL storyline intrigued me. I might be one of the few heterosexual, married Catholics that struggles with the church concerning its doctrine on homosexuality (hope my pastor's not watching, lol). Even though it was touched on, do you think the issue would have been explored more thoroughly had GL remained on the air?

Your entrepreneurial spirit is exciting. You knew you wanted to do a web series, but diid you have any idea what that would entail? What has the been the most challenging aspect?

Crystal, Venice is being promoted as truly global and you have stated that your global audience is very important to you (thankyou because what you are doing with Venice is very important to us too). Can I ask how you are (or intend to) promote the series through means other than through US sites and mags, which attract global fans anyway? Seems like there are still some major untapped opportunities to explore (must be kind of overwhelming!)

Thank you for all you have done and are doing for your fans, and your wonderful performance as Olivia. We love you for all you do.

In the soap world, the 'big romantic payoff' allows viewers to overlook the sometimes unrealistic drama that happens to keep couples apart while building up to that 'big payoff' – that overthetop first kiss or fantastic roamantic first love making scene. Then the couple is together, and together fight against outside forces, whatever they be, that try to tear them apart. The classic example is Luke/Laura on GH that fought the Casadine's after they went through the drama to get together.

This has been an accepted norm, and it is a pact between producers of a show and their viewers. We viewers know the payoff is so much sweeter when it happens like this! However, no matter the reason, this 'big payoff' has not happened very often with same-sex couples, not just in soaps, but any drama. It is considered very rare and precious in the lesbian community when it does actually happen. This has led to the gay community being very skeptical when viewing same-sex storylines. So many straight people were attracted to the Otalia storyline, and could not understand during all the build up drama how gay fans could be skeptical because they had not previously followed any same-sex couples.

As GL did disappoint in this regard (after such a ground-breaking, wonderful, drama filled build up) once again, and now even straight viewers are a little jaded by it, how do you plan to combat this skeptism so that fans, both straight and gay, will allow themselves to become 'invested' in Venice and go through the drama that we all want in order to get to the big payoff?

Olivia's one liners were such a part of her and GL, providing a bit of comic relief and I dont recall (if I can remember back to my High School Days) Carly ever being relaxed enough to make a side comment about sleeping her way through a phonebook. So we get the incredible, fierce,serious Carly during the day but will we see the amusing, less intense humorous side of Crystal in Gina?

I have followed Guiding Light and Olivia for many years and I do not think the character, the show or even you, yourself, have ever received as much attention as you all have received this past year do mostly in part to Otalia – what does your family think about the Otalia storyline and attention you are getting from it and with the work you will be doing on Venice? I'm curious about the production model you've chosen for Venice.

The new production model for GL garnered a lot of criticism, but I actually preferred it – once the camera guys mastered the art of zoom.

I think the new production model led to some really lovely outdoor scenes. Of those, the GoL scene following the WoD stands out as just breathtakingly beautiful.

I also think the the new production model allowed the actors to inject some spontaneity to the scenes. Ms. Chappell in particular has revealed a gift for physical comedy over the last few months which I found most engaging.

I have really enjoyed the almost improvisational quality that the new model seems to have encouraged. It draws good acting from good actors.

By contrast, the old production model used by many of the current soaps appears atrociously lit. It also seems to encourage a very specific acting style which is at times extremely stilted, at other times lazy, but often just plain bad.

I'm curious as to how Venice will be structured.

I've read elsewhere that the Venice team is anticipating five seasons over the course of the coming year.

Will Venice be structured in the manner of a traditional American soap? One continuous story line which can be broken down into story arcs centred around individual characters or groups of characters? No end, per se, just an endless reshuffling of the deck.

Or will Venice be modeled more along the lines of a telenovella? Each season having a beginning, a middle, and an end? Each season constituting one 'volume' of the larger series?

Has the fact that Venice is to be a webseries (at least initially) influenced how the series will be structured?

How in the world do you keep up the energy to do all that you do both personally and professionally?!

My questions: While I think that web-based series are the wave of the future, if Venice caught the eye of a network for a primetime series, would you consider this option? Or would you rather have the support of sponsors to keep it on the web, and have the creative control?

There is a general sense among many GL viewers that the Otalia storyline has been subject to censorship.

In particular, criticism has been directed at the lack of any physical intimacy or of anything remotely suggesting a sexual relationship between the characters of Olivia and Natalia on GL.

Even some among the straight audience have begun to notice the lack of intimacy, and to wonder why.

Obviously, I understand that, as the owners and producers of the series, the Venice team are free to represent whatever relationships they wish in whatever manner they wish.

I am curious, however, as to the issue of content and the Internet as a medium. Are there really no rules about content? No laws, domestic or international?

On a related issue, will the Venice team take it as a mark of honour if Venice should be banned in China, Iran, Saudi, Texas?

Have to admit that, after the disappointment of Otalia, I'm rather hoping that Venice will be racy enough to be banned in Boston.

With most of the roles you have played, you seem to have the ability to convey such realism in your characters without the necessity of a lot of dialogue or "acting" the part. How much of that is a part of your earlier teachings with Sanford Meisner? What was the greatest lesson he taught you?

What is the most important thing you have taken away from the Otalia experience that you will channel into Venice?

Is CBS purposely trying to rub salt in our gaping wound by featuring your kissing Christian LeBlanc on their website, while Otalia fans hit F5 day after day in hopes of progression beyond headbutting? Traditional soap operas seem to be dying. Why do you think this is happening? What do you think can be done to save soaps? Will 'Venice' address any of these issues?

Can web based scripted stories generate enough revenue to survive? I ask this because I see TV going to cheaper "reality TV" type stories. I personally don't like this at all. I love serials and scripted shows – especially if the stories don't talk down to audiences. Can scripted entertainment generate enough revenue to give crews and actors a decent income and live on the web? How can we as viewers help scripted serials on the web be successful?

What do you think is the biggest distinguishing factor between Daytime and Primetime Drama? And will "Venice" have more the feel of the former, the latter, or (perhaps befitting its new status online) something new altogether? Moreover, as an online production, "Venice" will have an international viewership from the *start*. Will not (necessarily) being held to US television conventions have an impact, and how so?

Hello Crystal, I was well and truly 'Chappelled' earlier this year when I discovered the 'Otalia' storyline on you tube, thanks to the wonderful peeps who upload.

I've fallen head over heals in love with the characers of Olivia and Natalia (I haven't managed to break the news to my beautiful husband yet!) and was overjoyed to hear that you and Jessica will be working together again on Venice.

I understand that the characters of Gina and Ani are exes, but I really, really, really hope they end up together!!!!

It's a real shame that the characters of Olivia and Natalia weren't afforded the same level of intimacy on the show as the other heterosexual couples. In the UK it's not really a big deal to have two women kissing on screen and we've had some wonderful dramas with very positive, happy endings. My point is, I've waited for Olivia and Natalia to kiss for such a long time that I don't think I could cope with Gina or Ani kissing any other women!

Getting to my question – Is there anyway fans can send donations to help with production costs? Don't get excited, I'm not wealthy but I really appreciate what your are doing for your fans worldwide, and I hate the thought of you all working for no pay.

Lastly, I'd just like to say you are one of the finest actors to grace the large or small screen. Your performances are breathtaking and your ability to deliver humour ...PRICELESS.

Producing this series for the web and having complete creative control over it's content, will "Venice" push the limits that TV has long censored and will it take us to places that have been long been considered taboo, or even controversial? What sort of business or advertising model will you be use to draw audiences? Web series tend to target a niche audience and money doesn't appear to be a driving force for web series makers so what measurements are appropriate to determine the success of failure of a web series or do we not yet know how to qualify a web series success.

Hi! As a former actress, I'm amazed at what you've been able to do on GL, in particular, under what must have been less-then-great conditions (ie few or no rehearsals, etc). I think you'd be great for the stage, doing challenging work like Chekhov. Ever thought about it?

Got a couple more questions

A lot of promotion for tv/movies is generally done by actors visiting talk shows, giving interviews to magazines etc. Now that you're creating a webseries, will you use that same media to promote Venice, or will you be likely to focus on promotion through the web? If the latter, just how do you plan on doing that?

One of the things that drew a lot of people into the Otalia storyline, was the fact that it focused a lot on family. Right now there have only been adult actors cast for Venice. Do you think it's likely that, in the future, there will also be kids added to the mix, not specifically for Gina, but for any of the characters?

You and I are the same age. When we were kids little girls not only watched their parents, but movies and TV, particularly daytime TV to learn about relationships. What were your biggest influences?

I recently learned that "Dynasty" star Linda Evans was on the British TV version of "Hell's Kitchen." If you had the time, aside from all of your work projects, family and friends, which reality show would you most like to participate on?

As a kid watching Star Trek, Lost In Space, the Jetsons and other futuristic shows like that...did you really think that we'd be talking to each other through a little box when we were adults? Now we need to work on the teleporter!(smile)

Congratulations on all your success. Seriously, if I were called Goddess on a regular basis, (and I will talk to my husband about that) it would be hard to stay humble. You seem to have found such great balance in your life...how do you stay humble and keep that balance when there is so much attention?

You were a major player in the ground breaking Otalia storyline in Guiding Light that really excited a fan base (which I am proudly a part of) that deeply respects you as an artist and person. I genuinely appreciated Jill Lorie Hurst's vision and the depth and time taken to develop the story of the two ladies – Olivia and Natalia. The great attention to story- it was about far more than the physical relationship- won my respect as a fan. I wouldn't have been offended by a bit more pysical intimacy, but I was proud that the center of the story was about FAR more. It was rich.

Now you are preparing for Venice and the buzz is epic already! Realizing that there's no perfect solution for every person's ideal, how important is “story” for Venice?

I am 47 and I have not watched a soap since high school. They were too over the top and ridiculous to spend time on – HOWEVER, I inadvertently stumbled onto Otalia while on YouTube and I have devoured every episode of GL that I could find online since that relationship started. I even stayed up to 3am one workday because I could not get enough. I kept trying to find the beginning and went back to 2007. THAT is how powerful your and Jessica's relationship affected me. The chemistry between you two was amazing and kept me watching the show. It was not overacted or contrived. Thank you for that. The story line covered issues I have struggled with from religion to the "Rafes" in my life. I love your humor ( coffee? Latte?) and the easy way you two laugh – it is beyond acting – it is seamless. Why are the Venice episodes going to be so short? I read somewhere that they would be around 7 minutes per episode. Is this because of limitations faced by a web series or just a practical decision made by you all, the producers?

Question for Crystal: From the little I've read about you wanting to do this series after the storyline between Olivia and Natalia on Guiding Light – what exactly do you hope to accomplish on Venice that has yet to be seen or given proper treatment?

Does it bother you that Guiding Light's Olivia and Natalia appeared to end up as friends sharing a home and childcare responsibilities (a la Kate and Allie), instead of the actual romantic couple they were expected to become?

The homophobia is quite apparent in American TV networks, particularly as demonstrated by Guiding Light. Are you concerned that your career will suffer because of your involvement with Venice, and your portrayal of a believable lesbian character?

You just recently received permission from NBC/Days of Our Lives (DOOL) to play the character "Gina" in "Venice." I have several questions about that.
Did you know that you were going to do "Venice" before you signed your contract with DOOL and if so, why didn't you have permission to play "Gina" written into your contract?
You are the main draw for fans who are going to follow "Venice." What was your Plan B if NBC/DOOL hadn't given you permission to play "Gina"?

However, as I always do, I use things that keep me occupied in my studies and therefor written two essays (including my graduating thesis) on or using Otalia.

As a long time soap viewer I've been disappointed by the lack of character versus plot driven storylines so I was very happy to find just the opposite on Guidling Light with the Otalia story. I found that as a straight woman I connected with the slow building romance & a couple I could root for, something that had been definitely lacking in recent soap storylines. As a result I've been happily connecting with others who've loved the storyline as well. Some have questioned my nvolvement or love of the storyline and don't seem to understand why I as straight woman would love it too. My question: with Venice I'm assuming that to be successful, it will have to reach out to all populations of people – gay, straight, families, singles, couples, etc. What are the plans for addressing that on Venice and/or do you personally see it being an issue since it will reunite yourself with Jessica Leccia, who played your partner in the same-sex story on GL?

Having been only recently introduced to your acting talents in March of this year I have sat and watched hours and hours of youtube catching up at the expense of my poor hubby who has had only the dog for company but I can say it was worth it the Otalia storyline and the character of Olivia Spencer have been fantastic.

Music has played an important role on Guiding Light using new and unsigned artists will the music be as important on Venice and will you be introducing us to some new artists?

Music played such an important role in so many pivotal scenes in the Otalia storyline. Several independent artists were used that most viewers such as myself were unfamiliar with. While you have asked fans to submit original music do you plan to continue to use independent artists in Venice as was done in Guiding Light.

Prime time programs have adopted and modified the typical soap opera format. Will Venice follow a similar format with all the drama/humor, angst, leveling off, resolution? Will Venice be a continuous open-end narrative?

MY QUESTION: Are you planning on releasing a "trailer" to maintain the momentum you have? And/or promotional materials? Given that GL is in the final days, it seems you may lose a little steam. A good trailer may ramp up the "viral" nature that you are looking for.

Having only just been introduced to the Otalia story, I just want to say thank you for an excellent story and performance.

My question is really based on some of the learnings that you will take from the perceived mistakes made by GL with respect to the lack of physical intimacy. In some quarters this has upset fans of the storyline including some in the gay and lesbian community.

How will you do it differently?

I was wondering... since the interactive element of Venice has thus far proved a raging success, will you be extending this to fit in with the design element of Venice? I sadly, wasn’t introduced to the guiding light or your character until the OTALIA story line came up. I learned of you from lesbian websites that had gotten excited about another portrayal of gay women on daytime TV. I’d only had AMC for years.

Considering u weren’t the first “gay " couple to be on daytime, did u expect your character to develop further, Such as kissing or to be shown in the same bed, Things that were being put on TV, just on another network?
Have u ever at any point in time, the very beginning or the very end seeing how OTALIA was handled, regretted the turn that your characters relationship with her best friend took?

As your character's level and manner of affection/sexual interaction towards the character of Natalia were stifled on GL, Gina will very much be a new experience for you. Do you envision having a "how to be a lesbian on camera" ala the L Word or do you all plan to just go with the flow?

Many fans blame the executive producers and writers of Guiding Light with sanitizing Olivia's relationship with Natalia. Is the criticism misguided?
