Amr Waked
Amr Waked

He's been dubbed the "George Clooney" of Egypt.

Amr Waked is both an actor of substance and a humanitarian.

While his big break came in the 2001 Arabic movie "Ashab Walla Business", he is best known to international audiences for his portrayal of a terrorist in the controversial Hollywood oil film "Syriana" starring George Clooney and Matt Damon.

Waked has won acclaim throughout his career spanning the stage, film and television, winning a best actor award for his role in Arabic film "Deil el samaka".

He has also set up his own production company dedicated to social mobilization campaigns throughout the Middle East and North Africa, and is an ambassador for the United Nation's program on HIV/AIDS.

Waked has recently been in London filming "Salmon Fishing In The Yemen" alongside Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott Thomas.

But in the past week he has taken centre stage with the millions of protesters on the streets of Cairo, calling for an end to the rule of President Hosni Mubarak and the beginning of democratic elections.

I haven't seen the movies mentioned but I plan to see them. It's great to see Egyptian actors also act in movies overseas. I admire Amr's other work as well.

So why is his picture in black and white? Don't want people to see how dark his skin color is?

Waked is no Clooney. He is a small time actor in Egypt that never made a hit movie however he is educated at the American University and has Palestinian tendencies and loyalty. He is using the current circus in Egypt and belonging to the opposition because the opposition is getting more attention from the foreign press now. he is using this to further his name in the USA in hoped of getting more recognition for a better opportunity in American movies. basically an opportunist. I have seen him speak in a gathering once in Egypt and in USA and found him to be shallow and mediocre with deep boyish looks. Who would wanna quizz him ??? please give us a break CNN and get someone who didn't seek this

This Amr Waked is a big liar and he was hated already by Egyptian people for so many bad acts in films, he is now trying to jump over Egyptian people to take credibility. NEVER BELIEVE THIS FAKE PERSON.. He always said great things about Mubarak online.
I wish to call the CNN to reveal the truth to the world
