In a special series of reports from Haiti, we'll be following people who are traveling to Port-au-Prince in the aftermath of last week's deadly earthquake to try and lend a helping hand.

In the first part of the series, we'll be following Richard Villar who is a highly respected orthopedic surgeon with Medical Emergency Relief International (MERLIN) from the UK. He is part of a team that is traveling to Haiti to help in the relief effort and we'll show you what he sees and experiences.
