As parts of the Gulf of Mexico continue to be devastated by one of the worst oil spills in U.S. history, one environmental campaigner by the name of Greta Scacchi has been warning for years that the state of the world's oceans are in peril.

Fifty-year old Greta Scacchi, is both a well-known film actress and environmentalist and has been arguing for years on the deadly impact that overfishing has on the world's oceans.
Scacchi has appeared in a number of campaigns to promote the health of the oceans and has even posed nude to raise awareness for the plight of blue fin tuna.
Born in 1960 in Milan, Italy, Scacchi studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and starred in her first film in 1982.
Scacchi went on to star in other films including "White Mischief", "The Ebony Tower", and "The Coca Cola Kid".
In 1996, Scacchi won an Emmy award for her portrayal of Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna of Russia in the television film "Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny".
