Live from Abu Dhabi Connect the World takes you on a journey across continents, investigating the stories that are changing our world.
Whether its steak tartar, spaghetti bolognese or a grilled cheese sandwich - your favorite meal can be as extravagant or as bland as you want.

caption="Does the Japanese dish of sushi interest you?"]
The age old question of what you would want as your last meal on earth has been discussed in movies, books and even amongst inmates on death row.
Most countries around the world can lay claim to at least one or two national dishes, but whether your geographic location influences your personal tastes is another story.
Americans may say they are home to the apple pie and cheeseburger while people in Canada call the beaver tail - a pastry like dessert - their national dish.
In South America, Brazilians have their version of BBQ meat called churrasco and Peruvians are brilliant using a grain called quinoa.

caption="Like the English meal of fish and chips?"]
Travelling east to Europe, the English are famed for their fish and chips and the Italians are infamous for everything pasta related.
In Africa, the corn dish fufu is generally regarded as a staple and any goat dish is also very popular in the region.
Of course, Indian cuisine is synonymous with curry dishes and for its use of dozens of fragrant spices.
In Asia, Japanese food can range from sushi to vegetable tempura and Koreans are famous for their national dish, pickled cabbage called kimchi.
As we can see, cuisine around the globe can be as different as apples and oranges, but this is where we want you to come in.
We want to know what your favorite meal is - whether it's from Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, Australia or any mix in between. Maybe it's something you've had once and will always remember or is it something you eat every day?
We also want you to send in your photos of your favorite dishes so we can show them on CNN International's Connect the World - send your pictures to connecttheworld@cnn.com
Please leave your comments below and if you have some photos you want to share, please e-mail us on the address above.
As a Canadian, its simple for me; a massive plate of poutine, a glass of crown royal and for desert, a tim hortons donut
Goat meat curry with Indian flat bread
Sushi! Sushi! Sushi!!
Talking about food and never mentionning France? This is weird...
to be honest, I've been "victim" to many cultures and foods, but personally I am a Canadian Chinese mix.
I'll list them out, and if it's my last meal, I guess all of them together will seem nice:
Japan: Pufferfish sashimi (never tried)
Korea: Korean BBQ
Taiwan: Bubble tea
Canada: Poutine, Tim Hortons Iced Cap.
USA: Krispy Kreme, seafood from Alaska
Europe: Fish and Chips.
choose only one? Pufferfish Sashimi.
Spiced Red Kidney Beans with fragrant steamed Basmati rice – a.k.a Rajma Chawal
My last meal- I have a huge appetite:
"Pepper Lunch" (http://www.pepperlunch.com.sg/menu_ppl.asp)
1 order of Tokusen Rib Eye Steak served on a sizzling hot plate with garlic steak sauce, bean sprouts, string beans, corn and Japanese rice.
2 pieces of tempura soft shell crab
3 pieces of uni (sea urchin) gunkan
1 chicken shawarma with all the fixings and a generous helping of garlic sauce (toum) and basmati rice
1 large slice of piping hot, traditional apple pie, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
1 large glass of fresh squeeze watermelon juice
Who says it's gonna be your last meal?
Are we all atheists here?
ahhhhh thats easy, a dozen lobsters and a case of cold beer
I would have a big Korean feast!!
Let's hope the last meal is a fresh breath of Air.
I happen to enjoy many cuisines - Japanese especially sushi, Chinese, Malay, Indian, Italian, you name it. If we are talking about comfort food then a nice plate of spaghetti and meat sauce, a glass of red wine, a nice leafy lettuce salad, and I'm all set.
Last meal on earth? Spaghetti aglio, olio e peperonchini (that would be spaghetti with garlic, olive oil an hot peppers) and a glass of Lambrusco (red wine from my dear Parma)
1. The "sushi" picture you have is either whale meat or horse.
2. This article is, at best, mediocre. What's the intent or purpose?
3. See #1

Then it WOULD be time to say goodbye.
A cynical and sick story that sends shivers up my spine.
Being from a civilised country, where thankfully no one has to answer this question.

Why on earth is this an important question. Is there something being planned that we don't know about yet? If you knew this would be your last meal, would you have apetite?
Aloha, Your story line is a good one,, if we could choose one last meal, or 'dish" if you will,,, I have been around the world,in search of the most fine Sushi, or simply put,,fine Japanese delectable. Here it is, In my opinion,,, the best there is on this planet, prepared by famous Japanese Master Chef,, Watanabe san, Sushi paradise, in Kihei Maui, Hawaii. The dish is " Seared Salmon" quite simply named, but but be advised it is a world class simplicity divine! Made from the "Toro" or special slice of the salmon belly, that he saves for us special people,,, the most rich portion, hand seared with a special torch, bound with shiso leaf, fresh ground spicy dikon radish, scallion, and fresh ground ginger,, now,,, just a few drops of Watanabe's infamous ponzu sauce,,, so here is the anecdote and special quote for your story,, when people ask me about it I have always said,,,, well,, if the Captain comes out of the cockpit and says , ladies and gentleman, we are going down,, "is there anything else you would like?" Then here it is, the very last taste i could imagine ,,, in the end,,, DP Maui Hawaii
ps: If you are ever here visting Hawaii, You must have it here! I sent fab photos of this dish as well, to connecttheworld@cnn.com
