His father is accused of an atrocity in Syria that left an estimated 20,000 people dead in the city of Hama. The family of Ribal al-Assad has been living in exile since shortly after that massacre. But the cousin of current leader Bashar al-Assad says his side of the family could play a crucial role in helping the nation come together.
