Al Qaeda tightens grip on Syrian city

They came claiming to help. In this CNN exclusive, the Syrian town of Raqqa lives a tragic reality under Al Qaeda control.

ISIS, the hardline wing of the Syrian rebel forces, has prompted reactionary protest from the local inhabitants. Dissenters are beaten and women’s rights are under threat.

On town walls, graffiti reads, “Bashar and ISIS are one”. Many now lament whether the revolutions is indeed at an end.
